DRESS CODE FOR GIRLS Hair should be well groomed. • Long hair should be tied back, and short hair should not cover the face. • Girls can wear white veils only purchasable from SBIS. • Undershirts should be plain white with no print and not be seen. • Girls can wear only one set of stud (non-dangling) earring. • They are not allowed to wear necklaces for safety reasons. • All uniforms must be of proper fit. • Make-up and nail polish are not allowed. • Nails have to be kept short and clean. • Shoes must be plain black. • Sandals and flip-flops are not allowed. DRESS CODE FOR BOYS Undershirts should be plain white with no print and not be seen. • Hair should always be well groomed and cut short. (No eccentric haircuts) • Facial hair must be kept to a minimum. • Beards and goatees are not allowed. • Shoes must be plain black. • Sandals and flip-flops are not allowed. PHYSICAL EDUCATION UNIFORM FOR GIRLS AND BOYS Students can wear their PE kit all day when they have PE lessons. Students get changed for swimming in the changing rooms at the pool. Girl’s swimsuits must be one piece; boy’s swimsuit should consist of either swim shorts with a waist drawstring or “Speedo” style swimwear. All swimwear must be plain black or navy blue colour. NON-UNIFORM DAYS The last day of the term will be a non-uniform day, unless a specific event is held. In some cases, certain students will be asked to wear their uniform during the day as punishment. No tank tops are allowed. Skirts and shorts must be least to knees. On days that students are permitted to celebrate by not wearing the school uniform, students have the choice to wear their formal uniform or the suggested costume for that day. Students who do not come in either uniform or in the suggested dress may be held in in-school suspension until a parent arrives with a change of clothing. The following rules apply to any day that students are permitted to dress out of uniform: • No tank tops, tube tops, mesh tops, sheer tops, sleeveless tops, halters, or bare midriff tops. Shirts cannot have necklines that are lower than the straight line from top of underarm across to opposite underarms. • Shirts must cover shoulders, must have sleeves, and must extend past the top of the pants.
